Privacy policy
This policy covers the Crumbs of History website (crumbsofhistory.cc) and the Crumbs of History Engine, a private publishing tool that uploads videos to the Crumbs of History YouTube channel.
Who uses the Engine
The Engine is used only by the owner of the Crumbs of History channel, to manage that one channel. It is not offered to the public, and nobody else can sign in to it.
What Google data the Engine uses, and why
When the channel owner signs in with Google, the Engine asks for permission to:
- Upload and manage videos on the channel (YouTube Data API:
youtube.upload,youtube.force-ssl): to publish episodes and Shorts, and set their titles, descriptions, thumbnails and captions. - Read the channel's analytics (YouTube Analytics API:
yt-analytics.readonly): views, watch time and similar figures for the channel's own videos, used to decide which topics to make next.
The Engine may also read public information about other videos on YouTube (titles and view counts from search) to judge how crowded a topic is. It does not access any viewer's personal data.
How data is stored and shared
- The sign-in token and channel statistics are stored only on the channel owner's private server.
- This data is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.
- The Engine's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
- The Engine uses YouTube API Services. Use of YouTube is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Removing access
Access can be revoked at any time from the Google account's security settings: myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once access is revoked, the stored token stops working, and the channel owner deletes it from the server.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. The web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page and time) for security, for a short period.
